Good News. February 2010

Do you love to read a good book; a book of history, of prophecies fulfilled, … prophecies yet to be fulfilled, and prophecies which could be happening as you read this very message?

The book I am referring to is actually 66 books, …. Don´t be alarmed, some books are as short as half a page, one of the longest is roughly the length of one of todays short novels.---- To be absolutely correct, we are probably looking at 10 average sized books,----approaching 1.000,000 words.

Throughout the 66 books, which were written by dozens of Authors over a period of some 1,600 years, you will naturally see a variety of styles. ---- I believe it to be of the utmost importance for us all to receive the message in this book. --- I am of course referring to the Bible, or as some prefer to call it, the Word; as every word written was God inspired.

From the very first book, Genesis, to the last book, Revelation (Apocalypse) Jesus will be revealed. Bearing in mind that some Scriptures with prophecies were written hundreds of years before Jesus came to earth, it is awesome to read the events of His birth, His place of birth, and of the girl to whom He would be born. We read not only of the first coming of Jesus Christ, but also of His second coming. God kept nothing secret, everything was well documented.

We can also read how it was prophesied, again hundreds of years before of how He would die, ---- by crucifixion, a type of death that no one of that time would have understood. We read how He would be betrayed by one of His own followers, ---- how the soldiers would throw dice to see which one would have His clothes after His death----But most amazing, the prophecy that He would be raised from the dead ----these are some of the main prophecies. All these prophecies and more were fulfilled. His resurrection from the dead was well documented by secular writers who were alive in that period and witnessed everything.

Personally, when I read some of the prophecies, in the book of Isaiah for instance, and I read that Isaiah wrote in 700 BC until near the end of his life in 681 BC, I am totally overwhelmed to discover that it is only now, through reading the Gospels, that it has been revealed to me that the death of Jesus on a cross was not a tragedy but an achievement. Something which was planned, between God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.---- I had never heard of a Messianic Jew until five years ago, ----I now know it refers to Jews who after receiving a revelation through the Scriptures, believe that Jesus is the Son of God, He is the Messiah that they were waiting for. Of course there are those who still have a veil which covers their minds. God refers to this in one of the Scriptures, He says “ My people will perish through lack of Knowledge”.

The same could be said about so many people today, Lack of knowledge keeps one in darkness, and to be perfectly blunt, controlled by the enemy.

This government of Three,---- Father, Son and Holy Spirit created us, the Universe and everything in it. Complete control was given to us-----God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness” and He gave us dominion over everything on earth..---- It was lost to us because of the sin of Adam and Eve who gave it to the enemy.

Thousands of years followed, some good, some positively evil. Covenants were made between God and His people. Animal sacrifices were made for forgiveness of sin. ---- But there was just one sacrifice that could have brought us back into a relationship with God, ----one sacrifice, so perfect so pure and sinless, that could take away the sins of the world. After forewarning the world through His prophets that the Saviour was coming; Jesus came, as prophesied into this world. ----He became human, He showed us how to live, how to love one another. He also explained to His followers that He would be killed, but that He would rise again from the dead…..Jesus died for everyone of us, He took on all sin, all sickness and disease; It is written that He was beaten beyond recognition, all that is asked of us is that we believe with all our heart, that Jesus is our Lord and Saviour, that we ask His forgiveness for our sins and invite Him into our lives.

Jesus took back dominium from Satan, and all who declare Jesus as their Lord and Saviour are seen as sinless in God´s eyes .---- unmerited favour through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ.

After His resurrection Jesus appeared to His followers many times before returning to His Father in heaven. He instructed them to take His message to the ends of the earth, all had to hear so that they could accept the gift of salvation. And they were not to worry as He would not be leaving them alone, and as He promised, He sent the Holy Spirit to live in every believer as their Comforter, Counsellor and Guide.

The second coming of Jesus is also prophesied. He will return, there will be a new heaven and a new earth. All believers will reign with Him and see Him face to face. God´s desire is that no one should perish. Until the total destruction of Satan and his demons, he will be about his business to destroy any human he has the chance to control. Meanwhile, we must be prepared, we have been forewarned, the return of Jesus for the believers will be fast. In the Gospel of 2 Peter 3: 8-10 he says “A day is like a thousand years to the Lord, and a thousand years is like a day. The Lord isn´t really being slow about His promise, as some people think. No, He is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent. But the day of the Lord will come as unexpectedly as a thief.
